Syllabus for CUET

Before you start preparing for CUET, it is important to know the syllabus.With more than 2 lakh seats on offer for undergraduate courses across 90+ universities, including 45 Central Universities, CUET is going to be one of the most competitive examinations at the UG level. Apart from this, while preparing for CUET you will also need to take care of your board preparations as well. Though the UG admissions will be done on the basis of students' CUET scores, the University of Delhi has announced the consideration of class 12th marks for the tiebreaker scenario (students with equal CUET scores, choosing the same college and course). Many more universities are expected to follow the same. Therefore while preparing for the CUET, you will need to adopt a structured approach means Section 1(A), Domain Subject and General Test.

Section I English

You have to attempt 50 questions in 60 minutes Vocabulary: - Root Words, Synonyms and Antonyms, Words often confused & misused, one word substitution, Idioms & Phrasal Verbs. Comprehension: - Reading Comprehension (Topic Wise, Mixed), Filler, Sentence Arrangement,Close test (Paragraph Completion). Grammar (Sentence Correction): - Subject verb agreement, Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb, Preposition,Conjunction, Interjection, Time and Tense.

Section II Domain Subject

You have to attempt 50 questions in 60 minutes The CUET syllabus for the domain-specific subjects will be the same as the NCERT syllabus for Class XII (Whole). Your NCERT books will be the best source of preparation for the domain-specific paper. One can choose from the following subjects for the domain-specific paper.
  1. Accountancy/ Book Keeping
  2. Biology/ Biological Studies/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry
  3. Business Studies
  4. Chemistry
  5. Computer Science/ Information Practices
  6. Economics/ Business Economics
  7. Geography/ Geology
  8. History
  9. Home Science
  10. Knowledge Tradition and Practices of India
  11. Environmental Science
  12. Mathematics
  13. Physical Education/ NCC /Yoga
  14. Physics
  15. Political Science
  16. Psychology
  17. Sociology
  18. Agriculture
  19. Mass Media/ Mass Communication
  20. Anthropology
  21. Fine Arts/ Visual Arts (Sculpture/ Painting)/Commercial Arts
  22. Performing Arts – (i.) Dance (Kathak/ Bharatnatyam/ Oddisi/ Kathakali/Kuchipudi/ Manipuri (ii.) Drama- Theatre (iii.) Music General (Hindustani/ Carnatic/ Rabindra Sangeet/ Percussion/ Non-Percussion)

Section III General Aptitude Test

You have to attempt 50 questions 50 minutes The General Aptitude Test (GT) is section III of the CUET paper and will comprise of the following subjects i.e. Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and Current Affairs.

Quantitative Aptitude

Arithmetic: - Faster method of calculation, LCM & HCF, Indices &Surds,Number System, Ratio & Proportion & Partnership, Time and Work & Pipe and Cistern, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Percentage and Profit & Loss, Time and Distance, Age & Average, Mixture and Alligation. Mensuration: - Area and Perimeter, Volume and total surface Area. Advance Math: - Permutation and Combination

Logical Reasoning

Logical Reasoning: - Puzzle test (Tabular form, Team Selection, Blood Relation, Sitting Arrangement, Comparison Type), Direction, Mathematical Operation, Input & Output, Alphabet (Series, Coding & Decoding, …), Ranking, Clock &Calendar, Analogy, Classification. Analytical Reasoning: - Syllogism, Statement – Assumption, Arguments, Course of Action,Conclusion, Cause& effect.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

Static GK: - History, Polity, Geography, Economics, Science Current Affairs: - Sports, Awards, Policy,….
